ABOUT ARTIST
Linda lives in Paradise Valley, AZ with her husband Michael. She started painting about 40 years ago while living in Toronto, Canada, starting out with one woman shows. About 27 years ago she moved to Arizona and her life direction changed. She had stopped painting for 12 years, but the love for the art had never left her. In 1998 Linda resumed her passion, painting non-objective geometric forms. Linda is fascinated with color, texture, balance and contradiction, and after many career changes, she is back to her first passion, painting. Her degree in Art history from York University in Toronto was only the beginning of a life long study of her visual world through paint.
Her exhibitions and galleries include the following:
York University College of Fine Arts Ontario, Canada Japanese Cultural Center Ontario, Canada Temple Beth Shalom Toronto, Canada ASU Fine Arts Building Tempe, Arizona ASU Gammage Auditorium Tempe, Arizona Scottsdale Community College Scottsdale, Arizona Kerr Cultural Center Scottsdale, Arizona Five Star Ford Dealership Scottsdale, Arizona Pitre Chrysler Dealership Scottsdale, Arizona Art Link Phoenix, Arizona Shemer Art Center Phoenix, Arizona Alice's Restaurant Phoenix, Arizona SGS Fine Arts Gallery Phoenix, Arizona Artique Art Gallery Scottsdale, Arizona Studio Hub Phoenix, Arizona
Currently Lindas work can be seen at:
Backstreet Wine Salon - Phoenix, Arizona Nest Interiors - Scottsdale, Arizona
Lindas work is characterized by intense emotional colors governed by strict geometric compositions. This contrast between vivid colors and contained colors provides a visual tension that moves through these works beyond the decorative and into the realm of the avant-garde and the experimental.
